The Little Things

It's getting close to the end of the year and as I look back over the past twelve months I find myself thinking of the Queen.

Little Juice and Apple Sauce ! (private joke)

Enzo holding Leo... I have almost the same picture somewhere of me holding Deep when he was so much smaller than me...

... it was last month !

Little bit too real...

I know it's been almost 3 weeks since my last post. Don't panic, it is not a relapse of my 2 year sojourn - simply life intruding, temporarily.

So many stories to tell, but one which jumps to the front of the line.

The first of many...

Today is Lorenzo's birthday...

I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot all about it. The first I remembered it was his birthday, was when Eileen texted me from the hospital to wish him. I know he's only three and doesn't truly get the importance of what his birthday, but he does know that it is special and that it is a cause for celebration - something his own father forgot.

Leonardo enters the world, enigmatically...

On Saturday 18th October, at 10.22am, we welcomed Leonardo Zahir Marwaha Alvarez into the world. Although small, at 5.0lbs, he was still 17.5 inches long and was keen enough to fight and scream when he was born.

As expected, he's been kept for observation as he was born at 37weeks of term and is making great strides in just the first 24 hours.

As with Lorenzo, he's come out with a full head of hair and, also like Lorenzo, his back is magnificent testament to the wonderful things that testosterone and Marwaha genes can do for hair growth. He looks like Lorenzo did when he was born but with some nice differences. Leonardo already looks more like Eileen than Enzo did and it's a healthy reminder to me that this guy is going to be his own man and our experience of him is going to be fresh and exciting.

We went through quite a bit to get him here and we're just going to enjoy every moment we have with him. For me, he is already a sharp reminder of my mother. In a good way. Although, she left us before he was born, she was very much a part of our journey towards a second child and she was especially proud and excited that I would share her joy of having two sons; it also brought her and Eileen closer together.

More to follow, stay tuned...
