Most successful sporting city in the world !!!

Heard today that we're not only the most successful in the Us, but the world. The way they ran the numbers was quite awesome - as I thought first cities in small countries would do better but they use a combination of number of pro sports, number of legitimate contenders, playing population, revenue from sport, global playing population, viewership etc etc

Well anyway... Cue the duckboats !!!

For my overseas lot, everytime Boston win something, the parade is on these amphibious tourist buses, called Duckboats.

Also just realized it doesnt count collegiate wins cos BU and BC would put us out of reach.

And heres some shots of the parade from my office window.

Winter Stills

Just a few short posts as this winter continues to abuse us.

We trudged through snow, subfreezing temps and struggled to stay clean with the black sleet on the roads - all to do a photo session for the boys.

Btw, the new collective known for Marwahas is 'The Firm'.

In the case of me Deep and Rohan, its 'The Old Firm'.

The Little Things

It's getting close to the end of the year and as I look back over the past twelve months I find myself thinking of the Queen.

Little Juice and Apple Sauce ! (private joke)

Enzo holding Leo... I have almost the same picture somewhere of me holding Deep when he was so much smaller than me...

... it was last month !

Little bit too real...

I know it's been almost 3 weeks since my last post. Don't panic, it is not a relapse of my 2 year sojourn - simply life intruding, temporarily.

So many stories to tell, but one which jumps to the front of the line.

The first of many...

Today is Lorenzo's birthday...

I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot all about it. The first I remembered it was his birthday, was when Eileen texted me from the hospital to wish him. I know he's only three and doesn't truly get the importance of what his birthday, but he does know that it is special and that it is a cause for celebration - something his own father forgot.

Leonardo enters the world, enigmatically...

On Saturday 18th October, at 10.22am, we welcomed Leonardo Zahir Marwaha Alvarez into the world. Although small, at 5.0lbs, he was still 17.5 inches long and was keen enough to fight and scream when he was born.

As expected, he's been kept for observation as he was born at 37weeks of term and is making great strides in just the first 24 hours.

As with Lorenzo, he's come out with a full head of hair and, also like Lorenzo, his back is magnificent testament to the wonderful things that testosterone and Marwaha genes can do for hair growth. He looks like Lorenzo did when he was born but with some nice differences. Leonardo already looks more like Eileen than Enzo did and it's a healthy reminder to me that this guy is going to be his own man and our experience of him is going to be fresh and exciting.

We went through quite a bit to get him here and we're just going to enjoy every moment we have with him. For me, he is already a sharp reminder of my mother. In a good way. Although, she left us before he was born, she was very much a part of our journey towards a second child and she was especially proud and excited that I would share her joy of having two sons; it also brought her and Eileen closer together.

More to follow, stay tuned...

Puppet ! You shall not pass !

"That's it Puppet... I got my Have-a-go Hoodie on!"

Prototype 2.0 - coming soon

So, naturally, this post begins with an apology to all our readers for not posting in 2 YEARS !?!?! Life took over, we got really busy and my writing energies were directed elsewhere.

For some of you, this will be old news - but we have a new one joining us soon. By soon, I mean in a few days. I don't mean that flippantly, I mean that today is Wednesday and the little one will be with us on Saturday.

This one's been a rockier journey. Enzo had been a walk in the park compered to this guy. Due to stress and various other complications, Eileen has been under the watchful gaze of some of Boston's best OBGYN crews and they've guided, ushered and hauled us over the finish line with not a minute to spare. The first date that they are comfortable for the baby to see sunshine is Saturday - so we are booked and prepped for an 18th of October delivery.

For those that know, yes, that is only 3 days before Enzo's birthday. Being the elder brother by almost three years, I think this is the best age differential for kids. You're not too close that your climbing over eachothers worlds but you also have something in common.

The baby is a boy ! This seems to be a family tradition - at least for me. I'm the first born of the first born going back a ways and there seems to be an obvious lean toward the masculine in that family tree.

We also have a name - but I'll save the suspense for the official announcement...

I'll be writing more regularly now - so stay tuned.
If you get email updates, let others know that they can sign up on the website.

All of our love,
Sanjay and Eileen
